Hear from Joan DeJoode about what God is doing in Carter County and the Northeast Correctional.
* * * * * * * * * * * Two Weeks Ago We wonderful class happened at Carter County Jail last night. Mikki Costner taught "Experiencing God" ... and we had 2 classes of 10 in the first class and 12 in the second class. Ten girls dedicated/rededicated their lives to our Lord and Savior. There were many new girls. The girls were very attentive and really enjoyed the class. We felt God was at work strongly in many of the girls' lives. Allen taught the men "Going for the Gold" with the teaching on setting realistic, specific, measurable Christ-centered goals based on Paul's teaching in Romans. Joel Williams and Carl Bryan came along to help and pray. There were two classes with 8 in the first class and 6 in the second class. Eleven men committed/recommitted to our Lord and Savior. All inmates seemed to have an expectation of learning new things and changing their futures. One Week Ago A wonderful class happened at Carter Co. Jail last night. I (Joan) taught "Experiencing God" and "Obedience is Costly" to the girls from Lower Floor. Faith Urick came along to help and pray as the teaching was going on. We had only one class of 13 girls. Three girls dedicated/rededicated their lives to our Lord and Savior. There were many new girls. Allen taught the men (continuing) "Going for the Gold" with the teaching on their success for when they get out. He also had only one class of 13 men. Eight men committed/recommitted to our Lord and Savior. Both groups (in jail) are advised of our "Living Free" group at Cornerstone Church on Thursday nights, and are encouraged to visit when they come out of jail. Please continue to pray for these willing servants and the great work happening in Carter County. Comments are closed.
