Ivory is one of our volunteers who serves with such dignity and grace and allows God to use her as a vessel for the women involved in the classes through FOCUS Ministries. Her testimony is incredible and encouraging to ALWAYS be ready for all things and open to being used how God leads.
“This month as a facilitator it really hit home the nature of the work I'm blessed to be a part of. I've seen what I've always known to be true that one cannot force the hand of God. I've learned through walking with the ladies this season that God's Will will ultimately be done. This month I was able to walk alongside a woman going through an especially hard time in her life. She shared with me her true frustrations about not having heard from God in months and her frustrations with helping minister to others and pray for the breakthrough of others only to see them get blessed, but what she felt to be forgotten by God. She asked me "What do you do when you're frustrated with God?" I've never had someone point blank ask me "what do I do". It shocked me a bit because I've never really taken the time to reflect on how I handle storms in the midst of them. I told her that I've had seasons of frustrations with God where I felt lost and ignored. I told her that God owes me nothing, but I owe him everything no matter what is going on. I told her that I keep in my mind that God loves me and He wants to see me happy more than I do and remembering that eases the frustration and gives me enough hope to make it bit by bit. This semester has been tough because the girls really opened up. Truly opened up. I'm amazed that God has chosen me to walk with the ladies and share His word. My prayers have changed from being about myself to being totally about others. It's been an incredible past few weeks on many levels the blessings and the trials.”
