Let me share with you the story of Alan...
Alan was an inmate at Morgan County. Upon receiving the news that he would be receiving parole and released soon, Alan was very excited. Unfortunately, he made a bad choice. Alan chose to sneak a cigarette-- something which is definite contraband in all Tennessee state prisons.
Soon after this moment, Alan was accused by a guard of the contraband moment despite having no proof. Fearing the loss of his parole and freedom, he lied. Soon after, God began to speak to Alan's heart. "Tell the truth, no matter the cost," is what Alan heard. Despite the advice of many friends to be silent and hide the lie, Alan chose to listen to and trust fully in God. He took the Lord at His Word and confessed his sin, no matter what the cost.
Thankfully, Alan was able to see the Lord's faithfulness as his parole was not violated, his freedom was granted. The guard even stated how much he respected Alan for his decision to tell the truth. Alan has realized that God is speaking and he need be listening-- and obeying!
I think we would all agree with that truth!
