Allen DeJoode, the FOCUS Carter County and Northeast Correctional (NECX) coordinator, recently stated that last Tuesday was the most rewarding and inspiring time he has ever had NECX!
A FOCUS student named Dean had been awaiting parole for years. After being denied multiple times, one student even declared he would give up his parole to see Dean set free. Dean's humility and life change are evident to all. The good news was January's parole hearing went differently! God granted Dean favor, he was awarded parole, and he will be arriving at the FOCUS House in due time.
Allen shared that he was both humbled and inspired when he saw the joy that the other inmates received from hearing about Dean's parole. It was a beautiful example of the body of Christ fulfilled. After teaching on the present day ministry of Jesus Christ as our intercessor and advocate, the men requested Allen commission them to return to their cells to be salt and light and proclaim Jesus Christ boldly. The entire FOCUS group circled up arm-in-arm and committed themselves to share Christ with the entire prison, cell block to cell block. Hallelujah!!
