Below is the testimony a FOCUS student currently in Morgan County.
Hello, my name is Terry Wayne Daniels.
I was born on June 26, 1975, and I grew up in Watertown, Tennessee. I was a normal child growing up in a normal town with a normal family. I was neither rich nor was I poor. My family did the best that they could and even though I did not always get what I wanted, my mom and dad made sure that I had what I needed. I went to school for the most part and as I started getting older I began running around with the older crowd, drinking, partying, and hanging out with older women.
Around the same time, I was introduced to my drug of choice, Methamphetamines, and would later become a chemist, cook, user, and dealer. With my newfound friend, Meth, and all my new cartel, I had money power, and respect. It was at this time that I met my girlfriend and soon-to-be wife. Life was good. We had whatever we wanted and did not have to do without thanks to the money I was making from my newfound friend, Meth.
Things were good for awhile until I let Meth start running my life. I was holding together pretty well for awhile. My wife became pregnant and things seemed like life was going great. After eight months of carrying our baby, it was time for my son to come into this world. During the birth of my son, there were some complications and we lost our baby. At this point, I lost it. I did not know where to turn. I was afraid to ask for help so I let my life go to hell and I did not care. It was close to Christmas and my wife ran off with my brother right before I came to prison. I love everything that I had ever loved including my children and my freedom. That is the price I had to pay.
It took me coming to prison to see how bad I had let my life become. I know that it sounds bad, but prison has saved my life and has made me a better person. While I was on the street I felt like my life had no meaning and I did not want to go on. I did not care if I lived or died.
Now I am in prison and I AM FREE, freer than when I was on the street. I wanted to change my life and I did. I got saved back on October 21, 2016, and I have come to God and Jesus. Since that day I have been blessed in so many ways. I have peace of mind, a guilt-free conscience and have what I need. There is a program called FOCUS ministries and I go to it every chance that I get. I can honestly say this is is a great program and it gave me hope. It led me to God and now I feel I can do everything through Christ.
My name is Terry Wayne Daniels and I have done a lot of bad things in my life and lot of things I am not proud of. But if I can change, then anyone who wants to change can change. I know that when I get to go home I am going to put myself in a new environment so that I have a new start to a new life. I am going to stay away from all the troublemakers, meth users, dealers, and cooks. I am going to find a church, get a job, be a good father, and have a good life.
My name is Terry Wayne Daniels and this is my story.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. The old has gone and the new has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17
